Important Landmarks
1. Sh.Mufti Mohammad Syed, the
then Hon’ble Chief Minister J&K
State laid the foundation stone of Administrative cum Faculty Complex of
IMPA Regional Center at Sidhra, Jammu on 20th April 2005. Ministry
of Rural Development, Government of India sanctioned Rs.6.75 crores
for Construction of the complex at
Jammu.
2. General
Administration Department, J&K Government vide cabinet decision 42/3
dated 18th April 2005
has been notified as the Administrative
Department of IMPA.
3. The
first Annual report of IMPA was released by then Hon’ble
Chief Minister Sh.Mufti Mohammad syed of J&K State on 20th April
2005 at IMPA
Regional Center,
Jammu.
4. The
construction work of 3 stroyed Hostel Block at
Main Campus, Srinagar is expected to be
completed by the end of 2006. The hostel
block comprising of fifty seater rooms and four
VIP Suits is being constructed at an estimated cost of
Rs.3.7 crores, for which funds were provided by
Ministry of Rural Development, Govt.of India.
5. The
Administrative cum faculty block at main campus,
Srinagar has
been renovated at the cost of Rs.1747 lakhs.
6. The Institute has filled up few of the vacant
faculty positions for both the offices at Srinagar and
Jammu in the month of April 2005.
7. The
Institute in collaboration with the Institute
of Social Sciences,
New Delhi
has taken up a project entitled “Strengthening of Good Governance in J&K
State-A Capacity Building Intervention”
8. The Institute in collaboration with the department
of Information Technology, J&K Government
has completed a project on ‘e-literacy’ designed to build capacities at
the grass-root level in all the districts of the State. The project was launched in order
to strengthen Information Technology Applications at all the levels
of administrative hierarchy in the state.
9. Vide
Cabined Decision No.185/10 dated: 23.9.2005 issued vide Govt.order No.1192-GAD of 2005
dated.27.9.2005, the services of IMPA employees were made pensionable similar to other State Government
employees.
10. The
Institute has the distinction of coaching
119 candidates for J&K Combined Service Examination batch 2005 out of
which 67 candidates qualified in the preliminary
examination.
11. The
national Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM) New
Delhi jointly
with J&K Institute of
Management, Public Administration & Rural Development
(IMPA) organized a Two day Regional workshop of Northern states on “Crises and Disaster
Management” at Jammu
on 30th & 31st January, 2006. The workshop
was attended by experts on disaster management and
senior officials/incharge
of Disaster Management Departments of Northern
States. The workshop was conducted at the instance of the
Second Administrative Reforms Commission under the Chairmanship of Sh.Verappa Moilly.
12. Sh.S.Maria Desalphine, IAS
former Director General IMPA and Dr.G.M.Dar
Incharge Disaster Management Center
participated in Two day Annual Conference of
Director General and Disaster Management Faculties of State Administrative Training Institutions(ATI’s)
organized by the National Institute
of Disaster Management, New Delhi on 12-13
December, 2005. The conference deliberated upon
various issues pertaining to capacity building of the
concerned officials regarding
Human Resource Planning for Disaster Management
and functioning of disaster management centers, few joint
action courses were finalized
for forth coming years training calendar.
13. The Institute signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with
National Institute of Urban Affairs
(NIUA), New Delhi
under USAID- FIRE(D)Programme.
14. The Institute organized eight training courses on
"Jana Kerosene Pariyojna" launched by
Ministry of Panchayati
Raj, Government of India from 2nd Oct.,2005 on a pilot basis for covering six hundred blocks
in the country. The scheme has been
extended to twelve blocks of the state.
15. The Institute conducted 22 training courses for the
members of Self Help Groups(SHGS)
identified under centrally sponsored scheme of “Swayam
Siddha” being implemented by Women’s Development Corporation, J&K
Government in 13 blocks of the state.
16. The
Institute hosted 11th Review meeting of “Swayam-Siddha” Scheme for the nodal officers of the Ministry of Human Resource
Development on 19th to 20th Oct,
2005, India. The
meeting was attended by twenty five delegates drawn from different
states of the country.

The Institute in collaboration with the Housing and Urban Development Department, Jammu and
Kashmir Government, conducted two one-day workshops on Training Needs
Assessment of Elected Representatives of Municipal Corporation/Councils/Committees on Institute Premises at
Jammu & Srinagar on 25th
Oct 17th Dec., 2005 respectively.
18. The
Institute in collaboration with the Information Technology
Department, Jammu and
Kashmir Government conducted two one-day workshop
on Community Information
Center(CIC’s) project for Block
Development Officers and District Informatics officers
of the state at Srinagar
as well as Jammu Campuses on 8th Nov & 11th
Nov, 2005 respectively.
19. A
one day Workshop for formulating a need based training calendar for
the
year 2006-07 was conducted at Srinagar
on 23rd February, 2006
under the Chairmanship of Mr. S.Maria Desalphine,IAS the then Director General, IMPA.
The training
calendar for the year
2006-2007 was discussed analyzed and modified.
20. For the Ist time State Darshan
tour was arranged for IAS probationers of J&K cadre. They visited
various districts of all the three regions of the state.
