Training & Academic Activities
Training programmes conducted so far can be
classified into two broad
categories.
l Sponsored Programmes
: Programmes sponsored by various Ministries,
Departments, Agencies etc. including those of Personnel; Public
Grievances and Pensions, Ministry of Rural Development and Ministry of
Home Affairs Government of India; National Institute of Urban Affairs
Govt. of India; Information Technology Department, J&K Govt.; Women
Development Corp. J&K Govt.
l Training Programmes :
designed and conducted by the Institute.
The Institute disseminates information through periodic
publication of IMPA Newsletter, seminars, workshops, conferences,
endowment and lecturers on contemporary themes and issues.
The
IMPA conducts a number of prestigious long duration programmes,
which include :
l 18 week Orientation Programme for Combined Competitive Service
Probationers.
l 02 week Orientation Programme for IFS Probationers.
l 04 week Orientation Programme for IAS Probationers.
l 08 week training programme for Asstt.

l 04 week Foundational
Course for Kashmir Administrative Service Officers.
l 02 week training programme for Women Development Corp. at each
district of Jammu & Kashmir Division.
l 10 days e-literacy programme for enhancing capacity building at cutting
edge level in each district of Jammu and Kashmir division.
l Orientation programme fro Panchayati
Raj functionaries and elected representatives.
l Training programme
for officials of Municipal Corporations, other Urban Local Bodies &
Elected Representatives.
Seminars
/ Workshops/Conferences / Presentations
IMPA has been regularly organizing
Workshops/Seminars, Conferences and in-house presentations on issues
relevant to the State administration. The purpose of holding these events
is to provide a platform for reviewing and analysing the performance of various constituents of the
state administration against standard benchmarks.
Publications
Faculty has been actively engaged in research
publications as well as in bringing out an In-house Newsletter and Annual
report.
Off-Campus
and outreach Activities
IMPA also conducts a number of programmes at district levels with the view to train local functionaries of the Government in the
areas of e-literacy, Rural Development and Centrally Sponsored Scheme of Swayamsidha implemented by Women Development
Corporation. These training programmes were

Doda, Kathua, Rajouri, Poonch,
Srinagar,
Badgam, Anantnag, Baramullah, Palwana Kupwara ,Basholi and R.S.Pura
